Human Capital Development for Biodiversity
This initiative is spearheaded by Green Matter under the auspices of the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) and other core agencies in the Biodiversity Conservation sector. With funding from the Lewis Foundation, the HCDB is aimed at aligning the professional skills needs in the sector with education and training offerings at South African Higher Education Institutions.
The HCDB website (www.skillsforbiodiversity.org.za) advertises bursuries and workplace opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Members of the Department actively engage with the initiative, and we invite students to visit the site regularly for updates on opportunities.
This is a useful resource for self-motivated students who seek opportunities for professional enrichment and self-directed skills development.
